One of the most rewarding things I do with my photography… Moments Caught Photography shoots Komen Race for the cure

This was my 8th year shooting the Philadelphia Susan G. Komen Race for the cure and every year it gets better and more rewarding. This year they added something new “Kids for the Cure” you know I was in heaven since taking pictures of children is really my true calling. Capturing the children’s pride in helping with something so important and their joy in just being outside with so much going on is second nature to me. I’m not sure I can even put into words what the experience is like for me but I will try.

My favorite moments are always on the stairs of the art museum with all of the survivors as they are getting ready to walk arm in arm in the “parade of pink”. After 8 years; I have developed real friendships with many of these incredible survivors. I know their stories, I know their families and year after year when we see each other on those steps it’s an affirmation of everything unspoken. We just about run into each others arms with a big heart felt hug and more often then not tears start flowing. The knowledge that another year has passed and they are still here is not lost on any of us. These women are still fighting for their life, still beating this terrible disease and still living every moment with a new kind of appreciation.

Who am I? Just the photographer who try’s to capture what they are feeling, their vulnerability, their strength, their hopes and their fears. I’m also a women with family members who have also fought cancer and I’m all too aware that I am not immune. Aware that in my own lifetime, myself or someone dear to me will have to face what they have. These women stand for strength, courage and beauty to me and hopefully they see in my eyes the respect, admiration and genuine caring I have for each of them. I’m a mother myself and on mothers day rather then sleep in and spend the time with my own children… well truly their is nowhere I would rather be then with all of these survivors who inspire me daily. I only hope that if my feelings aren’t shown in the tears in my eyes as they descend the steps or in the exchange between us as we meet again year after year; that somehow they are shown in the images I take.

Introducing… The Moments Caught Studio Experience! Philadelphia family photographer

Introducing…
The Moments Caught Studio experience!
Moments Caught Photography is proud to now offer you the additional option of creative studio photo shoots. This is especially convenient for newborns, the baby/toddler stage, very young family sessions as well as headshots.
I offer a tremendous amount of scenarios, set’s if you will to keep everyone’s images different yet distinctly cutting edge. Moments Caught is constantly updating our sets to keep up with the growing taste of my diverse clientele, taking our cues from the fashion world as well as today’s youth. As one of the New York fashion week’s official photographers I have a jump on today’s looks, and my photography style reflects this. While style is important to me, I always make sure my images have a distinctive classic element to them as well.
Our studio is conveniently located just off Main Street in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia. The studio is equally accessible from both center city and the surrounding suburbs. Right outside the studio doors we have even more options to use as our personal “natural backdrops”, weather permitting. Everything from old brick, graffiti walls, abandoned train tracks, gothic churches, old doors, bridges, the canal, the river, as well as flowers and trees in bloom are ours to explore. A combined studio/outdoor photo stroll gives you the best of both worlds!‘

blizzard of 2010 = no power for 4 days! Philadelphia family photographer

Ok, I’m officially over winter, over snow, and over being cold. The last snow storm brought down some huge trees on my street and with it the power. When we finally got power we realized one of the trees also knocked out comcast which means no phones, tv, or internet. Needless to say if you are a client who has tried to contact me I have been MIA, without power I could not charge my cell phone so we had nothing. Now we have a refrigerator filled with food to be trashed, several leaks, a broken jacuzzi (my husband is most upset about this) and at least 4 day’s just wasted. Oh well, keeping it all in perspective is what I do best and this to shall pass. We did have some wonderful moments of bonding with the kids (the first 24 hrs.) we played monopoly and poker by candle light and all snuggled up in my bed to watch a movie on the remaining battery of my laptop. I did go out and take some beautiful snow pictures the morning after the storm and you can even see the evil culprit of the power outage in a few….

Best buds already… Philadelphia family photographer, Moments Caught Photography

There is such a special bond between twins, and these 2 reminded me of my niece and nephew at that age. Aside from the coloring, they have very different features and certainly different personalities already. I have to say that what I enjoyed most about this session was how totally “in love” these parents are with their bundles of love. You couldn’t help but smile watching them interact with both each other and the kids. I promised that their sneak peak would be up to share with family by Thanksgiving so here you go, enjoy!IMG_6059IMG_6057IMG_6112aIMG_6154IMG_6230IMG_6371IMG_6396IMG_6401IMG_6449IMG_6464IMG_6605

I just love to watch them grow up… Main Line Family Photographer, Moments Caught Photography

It has been one year since I last photographed the “P” family and all 3 of these children are growing up and changing so quickly. What has not changed is how sweet they are and how the two bigger ones look out for and care for their baby sister. It is so sweet to see how they interact with each other, and I look forward to watching them grow up even more in the future.

A fun fall family session! Philadelphia family photographer, Moments Caught Photography

I love that all you have to do is sit 2 boy’s down in a pile of leaves and they can stay busy for hours… if you let them that is. These two boys remind me of my own at that age, in fact I think I have one of these exact images of my own kids (but with dark hair of course). “S” family you are in for many happy years with these two, thats for sure!!!

not exactly newborn, but new and perfect to this family… Philadelphia Newborn Photographer, Moments Caught Photography

Wait until you see the blue eyes on this little guy, which is not surprising coming from his gorgeous Mommy! We ventured out into a gorgeous fall day to capture some great images of this new family and little “O” couldn’t have been happier in the great outdoors. He seemed to love to be on the move which seems fitting since both Mom and Dad are runners, we couldn’t resist giving little “o” a medal of his Dads to get him in the mood. I have a feeling it won’t be too long until you are both running after him!
